Newton Road Races are organised by Newton Road Runners in memory of former club member Cat Gaskell.
Both distances start at Westburn Hall in Cambuslang and follow out and back routes along the Clyde path. The well maintained tarmac surface provides good conditions for fast running, with no roads to cross or traffic to contend with. A couple of small hills add some variety, but the course is predominantly flat.
The junior 3K starts at 11:15 and is for runners aged 15 and under, with children under 11 accompanied by an adult. The officially measured 10K follows at 12:00 and is open to runners aged over 15.
The event holds a Scottish Athletics licence and both races are chip timed. All finishers receive a goodie bag, with prizes awarded to the first three men and women.
