Dodging the puddles at the Fladbury Festive 5

Run in the New Year at the Fladbury Festive 5

Popular local event returns in 2022.

The Fladbury Festive 5 will be ready and waiting on Sunday 9 January, getting 2022 off on a firm footing after the Christmas festivities. Run 5-ish miles on an off-road course followed by tea and cake at the finish. What more could a runner want...

It may seem a bit premature to be thinking about post-Christmas races but we are almost at the end of the year and planning our race schedules for 2022. One to add to that list is the Fladbury Festive 5 which is open for entries and welcomes runners of all abilities to its 5.5 mile, multi-terrain race.

It is a single lap affair which goes along the banks of the River Avon, passing through the villages of Fladbury and Cropthorne. The route is flat on mainly fields and tracks which, weather depending, can be wet and muddy so off-road shoes are advisable.

Sprint over the finish line then relax and enjoy the free refreshments, cake always a favourite with runners. There is also a gift for every finisher.

This race is organised and hosted by The Friends of Fladbury community group who arrange events, support projects and fundraise for the benefit of their village. All profits from the Fladbury Festive 5 will go to Alzheimer’s Research UK and the community group.

Banish the post-Christmas blues and burn off the pigs in blankets, mince pies and cheeseboard at the same time.
