New Marathon For Stoke

A brand new trail marathon is coming to Stoke this spring. The Potteries Trail Marathon is all set for 13 April and promises to provide runners in Staffordshire with an exciting 99% traffic free route.
Organised by AV Timing, the scenic trail race will start at Festival Park in Stoke before taking runners on a 26.2 mile course through urban potteries on historic canals, numerous country parks and some beautiful rural cycleways.
Speaking about the new event, a spokesperson from AV Timing said: "People have been asking for a marathon to be in Stoke again, and there are only 300 spaces available so the advice is to be quick and grap a spot while you can! And if you can't run, why not volunteer? In return, we offer a free entry to another race on AV Timing."
The route will be marshalled and signed at turns, but some self guidance may be required. On the course, there will be five feed stations and checkpoints.
All finishers will get a bespoke medal & technical t-shirt and there will be prizes for both male and female 1st, 2nd and 3rd places.
There's plenty of interest in the event already with Beth Cliff commenting on Facebook: "The route looks fantastic. I run most of the route now and people won’t be disappointed - the slog up from Congleton to Chatterley Whitfield will certainly test the legs!"
