New Races For Glasgow Parks
There are exciting new races coming to some of Glasgow's iconic parks this autumn...
There's a brand new series of races heading to Glasgow this autumn courtesy of Up and Running Events and with three locations to choose from, not to mention varying distances on offer, this really is a 'something for everyone' scenario.
A spokesperson from the 'new race organiser on the block' said: "We are focused on putting on the highest quality races. Our runs are for everyone, we are friendly and welcoming to all. Whether you are just starting out and doing your first 5K or you are leading the pack and have many years running experience in your legs, we are here for you."
The first race will take place in the West End's Kelvingrove Park on 10 September where there will be both 5K and 10K distances on offer making it a great warm-up for the Great Scottish Run which will take place just a few weeks later.
Heading into October (22nd) and it is the turn of the South Side's Queen's Park which will also offer 5K and 10K distances. And in November (19th) the race action remains south of the River Clyde with the Bellahouston Park event which will up the ante with a trio of distances including 5K, 10K and Half Marathon.
Speaking about their events, organisers commented: "We currently have races in parks around Glasgow and we aim to get to the rest of the country as soon as we can. Our start and finishing lines are an upbeat place for friends and family to cheer you on! Come join us on our runs, whether to smash your PB, add to your medal collection or to start your running adventure.
"Should you have young runners in the family, from 11 years of age you can join us in a 5K and 15 years of age for a 10K."
