New Marathon For Yorkshire Dales
Fancy a summertime marathon in the picturesque Yorkshire Dales?
The Yorkshire Dales is a stunning location no matter what the reason for visiting, but readers of runABC will be particularly happy to hear that there will be a new marathon event coming to the area in summer 2025.
The Yorkshire Dales Marathon is sure to be a stunner in every sense and, if it's piquing your interest, then the date in question is 31 August. The marathon will take place on a fully closed road course in the world-famous Yorkshire Dales and will be as scenic as it is challenging.
Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is a national protected landscape full of breathtaking windswept moorlands and steep river valleys, gently rolling pastoral landscapes, peaceful ancient woodland and tranquil expanses.
Organisers say: "We're pretty proud of the course we've put together and we're sure you're going to love it. But what else would you expect from 26.2 miles set in a world-renowned National Park? You can expect stunning scenery, fully loaded feed stations, the odd sheep or two, and plenty of supporters to cheer you on as you wind your way through the stunning Yorkshire Dales."
With plenty to see and do, the local area is the perfect spot to plan a break around taking part and the organisers are also planning swim and cycle events across the same weekend so get involved and extend your stay.
