Bright For Sight Night Run to light up Dorset skies
Runners will be wearing their best fluorescent outfits and waving glow sticks at tomorrow's (Saturday 15 September) Bright for Sight Night Run. This year’s event is celebrating the 100th anniversary of Dorset Blind Association.
Boscombe Seafront is the location for the third outing of the Bright for Sight Night Run with a choice of a 5K or 10K, making it suitable for children as well as adults. It’s an ideal event for families, who can dress up in lime green, acid yellow or shocking pink and neon makeup to light up the South Coast on a Saturday evening.
This year’s event is marking the 100th birthday of the Dorset Blind Association. They provide tailored support to blind and partially sighted people in Dorset, helping them live independently and with confidence. The Bright for Sight Night Run is one of their many events taking place this year that combine fun with fundraising.
Registration opens at 7.30pm followed by a ‘clubbercise’ style warm up to get everyone in the mood and ready to run at 8.30pm. Participants can wear colourful clothing of their own choosing or a ‘glow-ready’ look courtesy of the organisers which includes a neon tutu, neon paint, glow sticks etc. There are first aiders on standby and water stations around the course with the added bonus of likely dry and mild weather conditions on the day.
There is a ‘Bright for Sight’ medal and goody bag for every runner.
