Fall in for the Apley Estate Autumn Challenge
Don’t ‘leaf’ it too late to enter the Apley Estate Autumn Challenge on Sunday 30 September where you can choose from a 5K, 10K or 21K on a stunning multi-terrain course in Shropshire.
Now in its 5th year and one of two races organised by Wrekin Road Runners, the Apley Estate Autumn Challenge is, once again, attracting a large volume of entries. Last year’s event was a sell-out success and the 2018 looks to be the same with online entries closing on Sunday (16 September).
The race won gold at the regional finals for the Best 5K West Midlands in the 2018 Running Awards. Other award-winning features include rare access to the private estate, a bespoke Apley Hall themed medal and every runners' favourite...cake!
The private Apley Estate consists of trails, woods and meadows set within 8,500 acres of land near Bridgnorth, Shropshire. It is home to the Georgian Apley Hall, an 18th century walled garden and a farm shop, all of which are maintained by the Hamilton family. Wrekin Road Runners have been fortunate to obtain permission to hold this event that goes through parts of the estate normally closed to the public.
Start times are: 10.30am for the 21K, 10.35am for the 10K and 10.40am for the 5K. Runners will complete 1 lap for the 5K and the 10K or 2 laps for the 21K. There is a technical T-shirt, certificate and medal for every finisher along with goody bags sponsored by Wenlock Water and High5.
This event is fundraising for Stockton Church and St Milburga Church in Beckbury.
