Racing at the Supermile Road Run

Super news as the Supermile returns

The need for speed at this Friday night challenge.

Friday the 13th could be lucky for some as the Supermile is back and with prizes for the fastest male/female and sprint finish. Children are also welcome to test themselves at this distance.

Organised by Curly’s Athletes, the Supermile is open to runners of all ages and abilities who would like to see how fast they can run a mile on the road on a Friday evening in August. Held at a favourite venue of theirs – Normanby Hall Country Park – it is a rare opportunity to do so and in the company of others keen to give their legs a spin.

Participants will be grouped with others in waves based upon their target time and this is an inclusive event where it doesn’t matter if someone runs a 5 minute mile or 13 minute mile as the aim is to run it at their best speed and there is cake (and water) to recover with.

For anyone who feels they are stuck in a rut with their running here is a chance to try something different and see what they are capable of. To go hard or go home and feel a sense of satisfaction at achieving their goal which could also be a PB at this distance.

The coveted yellow vest will be presented to the fastest man and woman and the equally desirable green vest to the best sprint finish - the latter always a crowd pleaser!

If you have been inspired by the Tokyo Olympics and want to release your inner Usain Bolt or Dina Asher-Smith then sign up for the Supermile at the Curly’s Athletes website.
