Discover the beauty of the Derbyshire Dales at the Monsal Trail April Half Marathon & 10K Weekend, a scenic running event set in the heart of the Peak District. Organised by Nice Work, the event offers both distances across two days, giving runners the flexibility to take part on either day or challenge themselves to a weekend of racing.

Starting and finishing at the former Bakewell railway station, the routes follow the picturesque Monsal Trail, a disused railway line winding through some of Derbyshire's most spectacular countryside. Along the way, runners pass through historic railway tunnels and cross the impressive Monsal Viaduct, enjoying sweeping views across the surrounding hills and valleys. The traffic-free course features gentle gradients and a firm trail surface, providing an enjoyable alternative to traditional road racing.

With its beautiful scenery, welcoming atmosphere and relatively forgiving terrain, the Monsal Trail is an appealing choice for runners of all abilities. The half marathon provides a rewarding endurance challenge and an opportunity to prepare for longer-distance events, while the 10K offers a shorter introduction to trail racing. Whether chasing a personal best or simply enjoying the stunning surroundings, runners can look forward to a memorable experience in the Peak District.
