A trail race born from loss is set to return to the North Yorkshire Moors this spring, as MindOverMoors OG comes back for its second edition on 4 April. Following a sell out debut in 2025, the six mile event through Fryup Dale valley quickly established itself as more than just a race, raising funds for mental health charities including PAPYRUS and The Lashes Foundation while bringing runners together in a shared show of support and remembrance.

A spokesperson said: "The race began as a one off event created to honour the daughters of two friends who tragically lost their lives to suicide. What followed was an overwhelming response from the running community, with participants and supporters uniting around the cause and creating an atmosphere that organisers say exceeded all expectations."

Now returning as part of a new annual series, the event will once again focus on promoting mental health awareness and suicide prevention, while continuing to build a strong sense of community across the trails of the North York Moors.

Based at the Yorkshire Cycle Hub, runners can expect a challenging and scenic route that climbs high above Fryup Dale before descending back through a mix of ancient trails and open moorland. Despite its relatively short distance, the course is described as tough, memorable and packed with dramatic views across the valley.

Organisers say the success of the first race has inspired a wider vision, with plans to develop a series of events that combine meaningful causes with unique trail running experiences. They believe the strength of MindOverMoors lies in its purpose as much as its route, with each event designed to stand apart and carry its own story while bringing people together through running.
