Make Autumn Plans For Chester

Find out more about one of the north west's best-loved events...

One of the north west's top distance events makes its return this autumn, so why not finish your 2023 race season in style and enter the award-winning MBNA Chester Marathon and Metric Marathon? Scheduled for 8 October, the dual event has so much to offer runners of all standards, it really is a no brainer!

Billed as one of the friendliest autumn races around, this event is suitable for first time runners, fun runners and competitive runners alike. And if you like your events to have a touch of class about them then the fact that it has been voted the UK's best marathon (up to 5,000 runners) at the 2018, 2019 and 2020 National Running Awards and also earned Race Check’s Gold Award 2022 is sure to impress.

The race route is epic, passing all Chester's iconic landmarks as well as running into the Welsh and Cheshire rolling countryside. The unforgettable finish includes a stunning straight near Chester Castle with supporters cheering on both sides of the street. An amazing end, to an amazing run.

If the marathon distance just seems a little too far a stretch, then why not choose to run the Metric Marathon instead? This is the perfect choice as a first 'marathon' (26.2 kilometres), and there is definitely still time to train for this between now and race day.

The rewards continue with a stunning race medal, well-renowned goody bags and a stylish finisher race tech top for all.
