Virtual Medley Relay Free Standing Medal

Pick from the mix in MB Virtual Medley Relay

MB Running Coach invites you to race your favourite distance in the Virtual Medley Relay.

Following on from the success of the 4x1 mile relays, coach Michelle Buckle has created another virtual event but with a difference. There are four different (and rarely raced) distances in this mixed relay to be held in early July.

Another factor was a statement released by England Athletics on 12 June confirming that the suspension of licensed road races would continue until the end of July. This along with positive feedback about the first virtual relay plus several enquiries about the possibility of another event was the catalyst for this latest venture.

Everyone who took part in the 4x1 mile relays were enthusiastic about a second event consisting of mixed distances – First leg: 1 mile, Second leg: 3K, Third leg: 4 miles and Fourth leg: 7 miles. These distances are rarely raced - although Michelle has completed them over the years - and there is something to suit all, children included. The 1 mile is a good option for youngsters and anyone who prefers to walk rather than run.

How does it work? Runners pick two relay legs in order to get one of their preferred distances. Michelle will randomly draw teams on Friday 3 July at 5pm. Runners have from 5.30pm Friday 3 July until 9pm Sunday 5 July to complete their relay leg then send their results to Michelle.

At 6pm on Monday 6 July the race will take place on the MB Running Coach Facebook page. Every finisher will receive a free standing medal and be entered into a draw for personalised MB running kit.
