The Jim Young Marymass 10K is a Scottish Athletics licensed road race organised by Irvine Running Club. Starting in Irvine and finishing beside the beach, the event follows a newly measured 10K course and also hosts the Ayrshire Harriers 10K Championship, attracting club runners and recreational athletes alike.
The route follows tarmac roads and cycle paths, beginning on Montgomery Lane before heading towards the Three Stanes Roundabout and returning along Marine Drive to a seaside finish near the former Magnum Leisure Centre. The predominantly flat course offers a fast and enjoyable run, with just the final few metres crossing grass before the finish line.
With chip timing, a mid race water station, finisher's medals, post race refreshments and a complimentary ice cream for every finisher, the Jim Young Marymass 10K combines competitive racing with a welcoming community atmosphere. Its coastal setting and long standing place in the Irvine running calendar make it one of Ayrshire's most popular summer road races.
