Your Stage Awaits In Manchester

Manchester Half set for sell-out as North West favourite returns this October...

The countdown is on for the return of the Manchester Half, the North West’s largest and one of the UK’s most popular half marathons, which takes place on 12 October this year. With over 24,000 runners expected to line up for the 13.1 mile challenge, entries are flying out fast and the event looks set for another sell-out.

The Manchester Half has built a strong reputation for its flat, fast course and friendly atmosphere, making it a magnet for both seasoned runners chasing personal bests and first-timers taking on their longest race yet. With just 105 metres of elevation across the entire route, the course is one of the flattest in the country - the perfect stage for hitting new targets or soaking up the electric Mancunian support.

This year also marks the final chapter of the event’s ‘Express Yourself’ campaign, which has encouraged runners to embrace their individuality on race day. Over the past three years, the campaign has inspired everything from bold outfits to mid-run dance moves, and the organisers have promised a few surprises to mark the end of this creative era.

Those in charge have designed flexible entry packages to suit all types of runners, from the no-frills finisher medal option to the fully loaded package, which includes personalised bibs, finishers’ tees and even branded Manchester Half running socks.

Organisers told us: "With 70% of places already snapped up, anyone hoping to secure a spot is urged to sign up soon to avoid missing out on one of the highlights of the UK running calendar. Whether you’re aiming for a new PB or just want to soak up the feel-good atmosphere, we can promise you a race day experience to remember."
