It's Going To Be A Tough Winter

Races don't get more challenging than January's MacTuff OCR event...

Scotland's toughest obstacle course challenge, MacTuff, has been on the go since 2016 and is tough for a variety of reasons, none more so than the fact that it takes place in the depths of winter! Organisers have this to say: "Welcome to January, welcome to Knockhill Racing Circuit. There is no hiding place. It may be cold, windy, rainy, hail, ice or snow. This is the Winter MacTuff. No excuses."

The 2024 winter outing is set to take place on 7 January at MacTuff's ancestral base at Knockhill Racing Circuit in Fife where organisers utilise the terrain and natural water features combined with traditional OCR obstacles to create a memorable event. Those signing up to this seriously fun challenge can choose to take part in the 7K event which is ideal for people new to obstacle course challenges or the more experienced can opt to tackle the brutal 15K or 21K distances.

There are more choices available too, as runners can choose to participate in survival mode (not competitive and for those looking to get around the course and 'enjoy' it) or competitive mode (which does what it says on the tin so to speak!).

Setting the scene for an epic experience organisers promise: "The familiar MacTuff start will be in place, with the Dunfermline pipers rallying the start with smoke and fireworks, and the fully kitted out American football team providing the first obstacle shortly after the start. Join hundreds of others and be part of the legend that is MacTuff and tick this off your bucket list. Sign up and regret it instantly."

If you like to know what you get for your entry fee then take note that all participants receive a bespoke medal, technical t-shirt and free event photo downloads.
