Lyme Park The Perfect Setting
Sign up to the second outing of this beautiful trail half...
After an incredibly successful inaugural outing in 2022, the Lyme Park Half Marathon will make its return this summer. The scenic Cheshire trail race will take place on 2 July and entries are already open, so why not make like an early bird and catch this delectable worm.
The Lyme Park Half Marathon is a stunning and challenging 14ish mile distance trail event starting and finishing in the beautiful National Trust grounds of Lyme Park, Cheshire. The 1,400-acre grounds encompass formal gardens, ancient woodland and rugged moors, with various fascinating follies - so loads of reasons to hang about post race and do some exploring.
From the spectacular backdrop of the medieval Lyme Hall, the run starts out following the Gritstone Trail south over remarkable terrain, where the views stretch on for miles around. The route then traverses runners up and along Kerridge Ridge, past the famous White Nancy landmark and then on to Bollington. Here entrants join the Macclesfield Canal for a flatter section back towards Lyme Park and the finish line.
The beautiful course will be fully marked and marshalled with two well stocked aid stations and a bespoke medal awaits runners at the finish. A spokesperson from race organiser, Big Feat Events commented: "The Lyme Park Trail Half is just under 14 miles and is a very beautiful and challenging course with 2000ft elevation! Event start time is 7am for this year as there is work being done in the National Trust Car Park so you can expect even more wildlife out on the route this time!"
