Release The Penguins!
Still time to party with penguins at the early bird rate in London's coolest 10K…
The Cancer Research UK London Winter Run is now officially the UK’s largest 10K road race and early bird entries close next Wednesday (18th October 2023) so there is just over a week left to join up to 25,000 runners in London's coolest 10K on Sunday 25th February 2024.
More than 8,000 charity runners have already snapped up a bargain, saving themselves more than a tenner on the standard entry price of £49.50, yet still enjoying all the benefits of this closed-road event on the iconic course in the heart of London.
All entrants will enjoy professional chip timing; a best-in-class London Winter Run medal; an event pack posted in advance, and a two-week free trial of Runna Premium – the #1 rated running training app.
The spectacular route passes the city’s most recognisable landmarks such as the National Gallery, Nelson's Column, St Paul's Cathedral, The Gherkin, the London Eye, and Big Ben. Naturally, there is plenty of live music en route and the famous parade of larger-than-life winter characters. The warm hug from a Polar Bear at the finish is a memory to treasure!
Last year's race was won by HOKA-sponsored athlete Ellis Cross (Aldershot, Farnham & District, 28:52) and the women's champion was Jess Warner-Judd (Blackburn Harriers, 31:59). Both athletes went on to greater glories in 2022 as Cross won the Vitality London 10,000 in a PB 28:40 and Warner-Judd ran superbly for England in the Birmingham Commonwealth Games and for GB in the World and European Championships.
The event is the perfect motivation to keep training throughout the winter months and with plenty of snowy surprises lined up for 2024, it’s set to be an unforgettable day. Where else can you rub shoulders with the elite on the start line; party with penguins part way round, and high-five a husky at the finish?
Of course, the whole point of Cancer Research UK London Winter Run is to raise vital funds to help freeze cancer in its tracks. Commit to donating £175 as a CRUK Exclusive Fundraiser and you will receive additional fundraising support, special event day experience, a CRUK running t-shirt, an exclusive 2024 fundraiser medal, and a four-week trial of Runna Premium.
