Run Scotland Loch Rannoch Marathon & Half Marathon

The Loch Rannoch Marathon and Half Marathon take place from Kinloch Rannoch, surrounded by the striking Highland scenery of Perthshire. Both races start and finish at Weller Poley Park and showcase the quiet roads and expansive views around Loch Rannoch.

Runners take on accurately measured, chip timed road courses beside the loch, with the half marathon following an undulating out and back route along the southern shore. The marathon extends the experience around the north and south shores of Loch Rannoch, providing a scenic endurance challenge in a peaceful rural setting.

The marathon has a history stretching back to the 1980s, when the course was used for the Scottish Championships, before the event was later revived by Run Nation. Together, the marathon and half marathon provide runners with two long distance options in one of Scotland’s most distinctive lochside race settings.
