40 Year Celebration For Scenic Half

Time to celebrate 40 years of this classic Scottish half marathon...

The Webster Loch Leven Half Marathon is back for its 40th edition on 11 May and will once again provide runners with an unforgettable experience along one of Scotland’s most scenic routes. Organised by Kinross Road Runners, this much-loved event has become a staple of the Scottish running calendar, with places expected to sell out quickly.

The 13.1 mile route, now run entirely on closed roads, offers a breathtaking loop around the stunning Loch Leven in Kinross-shire. Starting at the bottom of Kinross and finishing in the grounds of Kinross High School, the course is gently undulating and showcases some of Scotland’s finest landscapes.

Organisers say: "This year’s event takes on added prestige as it will host the East District Half Marathon Championships, with an entry limit of 900 runners we urge those interested to secure their spot early."

Runners will receive a finishers medal and running scarf as part of their entry, and will also have the opportunity to support the local community through a voluntary donation to TRACKS (The Rural Access Committee for Kinross-shire). The charity works to improve local pathways, including the much-loved trail around Loch Leven.

In 2024, participants raised £1035 for the charity, helping to enhance the running and walking routes in the area. Race organisers hope 2025’s event will continue to foster this community spirit.
