Santas set to collect suits for the Virtual Liverpool Santa Dash
Suits you: Virtual Liverpool Santa Dash pop-up shop open for business.
It's just over three weeks to Christmas and whilst things are different this year as a result of Covid-19, there is the Liverpool Santa Dash to look forward to on Sunday 20 December. The 5K virtual run promises to be ho ho ho festive fun and help eight charities at the same time.
One of the biggest events in the diary for organisers BTR Liverpool, 2020 was to be the 17th outing for this popular, family-friendly run that sees red and blue Santas dashing through the city centre. Open to people of all ages it usually takes place the first weekend in December but due to the second lockdown and tier system, the event has been put back to 20 December.
England’s lockdown ends on Wednesday 2 December and Liverpool will be placed into Tier 2 which means essential and non-essential shops are allowed to open. Good news for the organisers who have confirmed that their temporary Santa Dash shop will open from then and participants can collect their suit, run number and themed hologram medal. The pop-up shop is open every day until Saturday 19 December. People can also enter this event in person and take their Santa suit, number and medal with them.
This event is supporting Alder Hey Children’s Charity; Claire House Children’s Hospice; Clatterbridge Cancer Charity; Marie Curie; North West Air Ambulance; Nugent; Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation and WUTH Charity. Participants are asked to leave messages of goodwill for them on the online Snowflake Wall.
BTR Liverpool is working with Fans Supporting Foodbanks and welcome donations to help people going through a difficult time.
