The Lichfield 10K and Family Fun Run is a popular road running event based at historic Beacon Park. The 10K starts beside the park before heading away from the city onto closed rural roads and country lanes, passing through Chorley before returning to finish in Beacon Park.
The certified 10K course has a distinctly hilly middle section, with five climbs along the country lanes followed by a fast downhill run towards the finish. A wide and relatively flat opening kilometre gives runners space to settle into their pace, while chip timing, pacers and course marshalling support runners throughout.
A 2K Fun Run takes place entirely within Beacon Park before the main race, giving younger runners and families their own dedicated event. The park also provides the focal point for spectators and the race village, creating plenty of atmosphere around the start and finish.
