Race Launch Of The Alsager 5 And Knighton 20

Tasty launch of Alsager 5 & Knighton 20

There were treats in store at the recent launch of the 2020 editions Alsager 5 and Knighton 20. Runners queued to sign up for two tempting races and enjoyed a slice of cake at the same time.

Free tea/coffee and biscuits were on offer at the official launch of the VeloRunner- Envisage Alsager 5 and Knighton 20 mile races, which was held at the VeloRunner store in Stone and was supported by the local running community who turned out in numbers to register for these two popular races.

Places were quickly snapped up along with the biscuits, chocolate cake and even a mince pie or two. Everyone who entered had their photograph taken in the publicity board and there was a relaxed, informal atmosphere as people mingled and discussed forthcoming races.

The Alsager 5 is one of the fastest 5 mile races in the UK and regularly attracts a quality field due to the flat course that puts winter fitness levels to the test. It is the first North Staffs Road Running Association (NSRRA) race in the programme of 20 and heralds the start of a competitive season.

For those looking to see if their spring marathon training is on schedule the Knighton 20 is a good option. This undulating three-lap course is held on country lanes around the scenic hamlet of Knighton close to the Staffordshire/Shropshire border. There is a 3-stage relay option as well.

Race dates for 2020 are Alsager 5 on 2 February and the Knighton 20 on 8 March. Don’t wait too long to enter online especially for the Alsager 5 which always sells out well in advance.

To enter, visit the Alsager 5 website.
