Kirkcaldy Half Marathon

Kirkcaldy's Summer of Running

Grab your spot at Fife’s only half marathon...

If you are looking for a 'one of a kind' event then how about the Kirkcaldy Half Marathon? It is the only half marathon in Fife, so it certainly ticks the 'one off' box. The half marathon will take place on the Sunday 25 August as part of the wider Kirkcaldy Parks Running Festival which runs 24/25 August.

The half marathon takes in some of the town’s famous landmarks including Beveridge Park, Dunnikier Park and Ravenscraig Park as well as the beautiful coastal path with stunning sea views.

Speaking about their festival, organisers say: "Alongside the half marathon that started us off in 2019, we’ve also had a terrific response to our trail events in the last few years and we're delighted to be doing it all over again in 2024 with both events happening over two days on the same weekend and Fife AC running a mile race along Kirkcaldy Prom on the Friday night as well."

The (roughly) 5 mile trail race utilises Dunnikier Park, starting in the grounds of the park before heading out through the gently undulating surrounding woodland areas and the tracks around the outside of the golf course.

The festival offers something for all the family so even if you’re not running, organisers suggest you spend the afternoon in their event village in the park, enjoying the attractions, grabbing a bite to eat and cheering for your runners as they cross the finish line. Adding to the festival atmosphere, there will also be a fun run for family and friends during the half marathon.
