A King Among Races
A brand new race for Northamptonshire courtesy of Nene Valley Races...
There's another new event in the offing for Northamptonshire with the Kings Cliffe 10K all set for a 14 April date. Yes, that's only a couple of weeks away, but there are still places up for grabs and we're sure most of you are 10K race-ready.
The event is organised by Nene Valley Races who promise a friendly and scenic 10K trail race. They say: "This brand new 10K trail builds on our friendly Nene Valley 10 and 20 mile trail running races, and will show you more of this beautiful area. You'll be running on easy tracks and paths through the undiscovered, rolling Northamptonshire countryside."
The race starts and finishes at KC Active in Kings Cliffe and will take runners on a circular route through green fields, farm tracks and disused railway tracks. The route also passed the house that Rowan Atkinson (Blackadder, Mr Bean, Johnny English) used to live in.
The route will be fully marked and marshalled (so no need to navigate) with a well stocked aid station. The route is ideal for those looking for their first 10K race as well as experienced runners and is an ideal training run before the main 10 and 20 mile races in June.
On race day the Active Community cafe will be open and serving (at very reasonable prices) with a menu that includes bacon and sausage baps, veggie sausage baps, sausage rolls, veggie soup, cakes, vegan cakes and cookies.
