Kilmacolm Running Festival Moves To Spring Date
The Kilmacolm Running Festival returns on 17 May 2026 with a half marathon, 10K, 3K and family races in Inverclyde....
The Kilmacolm Running Festival is set to return in 2026 with a change to the race calendar, moving to a spring date after traditionally taking place in the autumn. The event will be held on 17 May, starting and finishing at Birkmyre Park Fitness Gym in Kilmacolm.
One of the largest participation events in Inverclyde’s sporting calendar, the festival welcomes runners of all ages and abilities. The programme includes a half marathon, 10K, 3K and the family friendly Toddle Woddle, ensuring there is something for everyone. In 2026 the festival will also hold Scottish Athletics Championship status, adding an extra competitive edge to the half marathon and 10K events.
Runners will set off from Birkmyre Fitness Gym before making their way through the streets of Kilmacolm, the surrounding countryside and the local cycle path. The half marathon follows a scenic route through the village and nearby rural roads, while the 10K uses part of the same course before both events return to the finish at the gym.
Organisers have worked closely with the local community to ensure the event is enjoyable for both runners and residents, with families encouraged to get involved and soak up the atmosphere throughout the day. The festival has built a reputation for being welcoming and well-organised, making it a popular choice for runners across the west of Scotland.
Pre-registered runners will be guaranteed a race T-shirt included in their race pack, adding an extra incentive to secure an early entry.
