Kielder Marathon

The Kielder Marathon is organised by Events of the North and takes place around Kielder Water in Northumberland. Widely recognised as one of the UK's most scenic marathons, the event follows a spectacular trail route through Kielder Forest, combining forest tracks, lakeside paths and panoramic views across England's largest woodland and northern Europe's largest man made lake.

The challenging course features a varied trail surface and undulating profile, rewarding runners with outstanding scenery throughout the marathon. The peaceful setting and distinctive landscape have helped establish the event as one of Britain's best known trail marathons, attracting runners from across the UK and beyond.

The marathon forms part of the Kielder Marathon Weekend, alongside the Half Marathon, 10K, Junior races and Gravel Duathlon, creating a full weekend of endurance sport in the heart of Northumberland. Every finisher receives a medal and goody bag, while event facilities include secure baggage, a park and ride system, refreshments and support throughout the course.
