The Keswick Half Marathon is organised by Keswick Rugby Club and takes place in the heart of the Lake District. The event raises funds to support the club's grassroots rugby programme and has become one of Cumbria's best known Half Marathons, attracting runners to a spectacular setting within the national park.
The road course starts and finishes at Keswick Rugby Club before heading through Portinscale and into the Newlands Valley. Runners complete a scenic circuit that passes beside Derwentwater and through the surrounding countryside, with a series of sustained climbs and descents providing a demanding but rewarding challenge against a backdrop of fells, lakes and traditional Lakeland villages.
Chip timing, water stations, marshalled roads, medical support and a finisher medal help deliver a well organised race day. The welcoming atmosphere at Keswick Rugby Club and the event's distinctive Lake District setting combine to make this a memorable fixture in the road running calendar.
