Jarrow 10K is organised by RunThrough in partnership with Jarrow and Hebburn Athletics Club, offering a fast race designed for runners looking to test themselves over an accurately measured 10K.
Starting and finishing on the athletics track at Monkton Stadium, the flat, road closed course uses a two lap format with wide tarmac sections before runners return to the stadium for a track finish. Separate A and B races divide runners according to expected finish time, with the event forming part of the Top Flight Race Series and attracting runners across a wide range of abilities.
The race is chip timed, with kilometre markers and marshals around the course. Finishers receive a themed medal, free race photos and post race goodies, while category prizes recognise leading performances.
A separate Junior Race also takes place at Monkton Stadium later in the morning.
