Milne is the man to beat at Hertfordshire Half Marathon
Hertfordshire Half Marathon on Sunday (24 November) is our pick of the action in the runABC South territory this weekend. There were 1,500 finishers last year and just over 2,000 in 2017, when the race was launched.
Alex Milne (Hercules Wimbledon) will be going for a hat trick of victories and he set the men's course record (1:08:44) in 2017. W40 Helen Davies (Ipswich Jaffa, 1:19:28) established the women's best in the inaugural race and last year's winners were Milne (1:10:10) and Felicity Hannon (1:28:31) who was runner-up to Davies in 2017.
Hertfordshire Half Marathon is held on fully closed rural roads, starting and finishing in the grounds of iconic Knebworth House. The lavish Grade II listed Tudor stately home and gardens hosts massive open air rock concerts and artists appearing have included Robbie Williams, Oasis, Led Zeppelin and Red Hot Chilli Peppers. We have checked the entry list and none of those names are present this year!
RunThrough events are the experienced race management team and all participants receive a brand new, themed medal; chip timing; ACTIPH Water at the finish and post-race treats from Love Corn, Popchips, Pics Peanut Butter and Pursu ethical food products.
Also available in the event village will be a group warm-up by Odyssey Health Club and free massage from Sports Therapy UK. Musical entertainment has been a feature of previous races and the vibe can be sampled through this short highlights video.
The very latest information is available on the official Hertfordshire Half Marathon Facebook page and results will be displayed on runABC South race listing here
