The Heaton Harriers Memorial Races are a long established fixture on Newcastle's running calendar, centred on a 10K road race around the Town Moor. The programme also includes a 1K race for younger runners and a series of 3K junior races.
The main 10K gives runners the chance to chase a fast time on a traffic free course around Newcastle Town Moor. The race is held under a UK Athletics licence and all races are chip timed, with the open setting and fast course making the 10K particularly well suited to runners targeting a PB.
Organised by Heaton Harriers, the Memorial Races have a history stretching back to 1920. Junior races take place before the senior 10K, creating a full morning of racing on the Town Moor with events for a wide range of age groups.
