Hathersage Night Race is an evening fell running event in Hathersage, Derbyshire, taking runners into the Peak District countryside after dark. The 5 Mile race starts from Hathersage and climbs towards Stanage Edge, providing a challenging night running experience in one of the area's best known landscapes.
The route covers approximately 8K with 320 metres of ascent, featuring steep climbs, rugged fell terrain and exposed sections along the edge. Runners must carry a headtorch and full FRA safety kit, making preparation and navigation important parts of the challenge. The course is suited to runners comfortable with demanding terrain and running in darkness.
The event is held under Fell Runners Association rules, with registration taking place at Outside in Hathersage from 6pm. Entry is limited to 250 runners, with advance booking required and a minimum age of 18. Participants can also enjoy a pie and pea supper and an evening talk after the race through the combined entry option.
