Good news! The hugely popular Hastings Half Marathon is back on the race schedules and will now be run on Sunday 5 October 2025, following its late cancellation due to a police chemical incident on 20 March 2025 – as reported here in runABC South.

A spokesperson for race management company Nice Work said: "We have been working hard behind the scenes and have managed to reschedule the race in record time to take place on Sunday 5 October 2025. Entries have now reopened. We can't wait to welcome everyone back to the start line."

Nice Work was forced to make the difficult decision to cancel the race on the eve of the event, when it became clear the police cordon would not be lifted in time to set up the event thoroughly and safely.

Arrangements were made to postpone the race, and the following statement has been posted on Nice Work's Facebook page: "HHM25 is ON! We are delighted to share that the HHM has been rescheduled for Sunday 5th October 2025. Your entry remains valid, and we are committed to ensuring that you still have the opportunity to cross that finish line. Since the cancellation, our team has worked together with the relevant groups in record time to secure Sunday 5th October 2025 as the new date for HHM. All participants have been emailed with further details, including your option of a FREE deferral if you cannot make the new date."
