It's Great, It's Glasgow, It's Back!
The Great Scottish Run returns to the streets of Glasgow this autumn...
From east to west and the Highlands to the Borders, runners from across Scotland (and beyond) will congregate on Glasgow's George Square on 1 October for the return of the Great Scottish Run!
Back in 2023 for another spectacular celebration of running, organisers promise that this will be another incredible weekend for all who take part. And with 10K/Half Marathon options, not to mention Junior & Mini kids events - there are plenty of ways to take part with races and distances to suit all ages and abilities.
The Great Scottish Run is one of the country's most popular events. It offers runners in Scotland a phenomenal atmosphere with crowds roaring support from start to finish. The route is first-rate too - with iconic landmarks and unbeatable views throughout.
Both the 10K and Half Marathon events start in George Square and follow the traditional route, taking runners past some of the city’s most famous landmarks, along the River Clyde and through some of Glasgow’s greenest spaces, before a grandstand finish in Glasgow Green.
It's not just great crowds and top notch scenery that runners can expect, there will also be a return of the rocking on course music and entertainment zones which include local bands and charity cheering buses. Glasgow really does comes alive on race day and delivers an event experience like no other!
Tens of thousands of runners take part each year to challenge themselves and to raise money for good causes but whether it’s doing something incredible for charity, the pure joy as you cross the finish line, or wearing your medal with pride, you have to be there to experience that unforgettable feeling.
The AJ Bell Junior & Mini Great Scottish Run is a brilliant introduction to running events for kids. The popular kids’ events on Saturday give budding running stars of the future a taste of the big event experience, and a finish line feeling that will inspire a lifelong love of being active. Toddlers (1-3) and minis (3-8) take on a daring 70m or 1.5K dash, while juniors (9-15) tackle a 2.5K supercharged sprint.
