Great North Run Solo sets halloween challenge

31 days to complete Great North Run Solo's October challenge of 15 runs with 40, 75 & 125 mile targets

September's been a pretty gloomy month, let's hope things improve in October. The 10th month of the year is usually one of the best running months – cool conditions and autumnal vistas. And kids, little ones, and big ones too, always look forward to Halloween.

Why not make your countdown to the spookiest night of the year part of your running 'ghouls' for the second part of 2020. That's what Great Run hope you will do and take on their Halloween-themed accumulator challenge. In fact, they dare you!

The challenge is to complete 15 runs (or more) of any distance in October – you can run at any pace and distance comfortable for you. If you complete 15 runs by 31 October, you will receive a frighteningly awesome Halloween medal.

To add some extra spice to the cauldron, the challenge also includes an optional distance challenge. Depending how far you run over your 15 (or more) runs, you will be awarded a bespoke digital finishers certificate to download and share:

  • Blow off the cobwebs – 40 Miles
  • Ghoul beater – 75 miles
  • Run for your life – 125 miles

The challenge starts today (1 October) and costs £10 to join. Your challenge joining fee includes a unique finishers medal, training plans & tips, and access to an online run tracking tool. You can join the challenge anytime from now up to Thursday 8 October, when entries close.

It really is a challenge to sink your teeth into!  Find out more about the challenge and enter at the Great Run website.
