Great North 10K

Go For 10K Greatness

Find out more about the great new route for this great summer 10K...

The AJ Bell Great North 10K is already a favourite amongst runners in the North East and this year it’s back bigger and better than ever with an exciting new route passing some of Newcastle’s most iconic sights.

The new route will start on the famous Great North Run start line and take runners across the iconic Tyne Bridge twice, before weaving through Newcastle city centre and finishing on the Town Moor. It’s a route for all ages and abilities, whether it’s your first 10K or 50th, the Geordie supporters and lively carnival atmosphere will keep you going until you cross that finish line. From the start line DJ, to the on-course music zones... it’s a party from start to finish!

Paul Foster, Chief Executive of the Great Run Company said, “We’re delighted to be able to offer this brand-new running experience, straight through the heart of our vibrant city centre. We’re excited to be able to offer even more runners the opportunity to run over the famous Tyne Bridge, while also seeing the sights of the city from a whole new perspective.

“We know from our experience in other locations, how special it is to run on closed roads, past city centre landmarks and we’re sure the spectator support will reflect Newcastle’s reputation as a warm and welcoming city.”

Another exciting addition for 2023 is a partnership with the Newcastle United Foundation. Runners will have the option to be a local hero and run for NUF with a black and white run number, raising donations for sports and wellbeing programmes in the area. Runners are encouraged to support this fantastic cause, with an option to be part of a special Newcastle United Foundation wave on event day.

Whether you do it for the challenge, for fun, for a PB or to raise money for a great local charity, sign up today.
