Local Heroes Required For Great 10K

The North East’s biggest and best 10K is back this July...

Just two months to go until this year's staging of the Great North 10K, will you toe the line on 7 July at the iconic North East event? Organised by Great Run, you can check out some handy training plans on their website, and for those of you lucky enough to have bagged a spot at this year's Great North Run, it would make for an ideal prep race.

The AJ Bell Great North 10K transforms ordinary people into local heroes along a city centre route that shares the same iconic start line as the Great North Run. From river views to stunning architecture, the race is a love letter to Newcastle – and there’s a whole lot of love for it among runners and spectators alike!

The race passes across the iconic Tyne Bridge twice, before weaving through Newcastle city centre. Throughout the course runners will take in plenty of famous landmarks including The Sage, Grey’s Monument, Eldon Square, Laing Art Gallery, Newcastle Civic Centre, Haymarket; and Great North Museum.

Participants can expect a party atmosphere and incredible Geordie support all the way round and adding to the spectacle of the day, it is a grandstand finish and a special finisher’s medal that awaits on the Town Moor. Here you can also enjoy post event celebrations in the Apres Run zone.

Whether you do it to hit a personal best, to do something incredible for charity, or simply for fun, take your place on the start line and experience it all for yourself.  Make July 2024 your greatest yet and sign up today.
