Pitch up for the Maravan
Choice of three races over two days in a caravan park.
The Maravan is back on site at the Haven Thorpe Park Holiday Centre as individual runners and teams complete laps of a flat course over the weekend 20-21 November. This is a pleasure trip for some and a challenge for others, looking to run 26.2 miles for the first time or do a marathon double.
This is an event with a difference from Vigilantes Running. It involves running on quiet roads around an almost empty caravan park in Cleethorpes, Lincolnshire with a marathon or half marathon the goal. Fuelling and hydration are taken care of at a feed station every 3.7 miles with a good selection of food and water for all taste buds. Vegetarian and vegan runners are catered for along with meat eaters.
Saturday 20 November is Marathon Day 1 and a 9am start time. Also taking place is the Maravan 4-Berth Relay open to 35 teams of four who run two laps each except the final leg, 1 lap. The course is on paved access roads with minimal traffic and goes around the holiday park, making it easy for family and friends to cheer them on. This is an event for everyone whether they are in it to win it or to support club members. There is a trophy for the winning team.
Sunday 21 November is Marathon Day 2 and the Half Marathon, both of which start at 9am.
Finishers in the marathon, relay and half marathon receive a bespoke medal, water and a goody bag.
There are places left in the marathons and relay but the half marathon is full. For more information and to enter, visit the Vigilantes Running website.
