The General Sosabowski Race is a 5K trail race starting from the Royal British Legion TA Centre in Leven. The out and back course follows the beach between Leven and Lundin Links, with runners racing on firm sand while tracing the area where General Stanisław Sosabowski and the 1st Independent Parachute Brigade trained during the Second World War.
Organised by Nuts Trail Races, the event is held under ARC Rules and welcomes adults alongside a separate 2.5K children's race for participants aged nine and over. Every finisher receives a commemorative medal, with prizes awarded to the leading male and female finishers in both races.
The General Sosabowski Race combines a unique coastal course with an important piece of military history, giving runners the opportunity to enjoy a distinctive beach run while commemorating the legacy of the Polish troops who trained in Fife.
