The Folkestone Rotary Half Marathon is a popular coastal road race organised by Folkestone Rotary Club, starting and finishing on The Leas outside The Grand. The accurately measured course showcases Folkestone's coastline and is supported by local community groups, creating a friendly atmosphere throughout the event.
Runners follow the route through the coastal park before heading along the promenade on an out and back section towards Hythe. Much of the half marathon is relatively flat and provides good PB potential, although a couple of hills add some extra challenge. The accessible course makes it suitable for experienced runners as well as those taking on the half marathon distance for the first time.
All half marathon finishers receive a bespoke medal, with trophies and cash prizes available for leading runners and goodies at the finish line. A Junior Run also forms part of the event programme, giving younger runners an opportunity to take part in the race day atmosphere.
