This is an alert that entries for this ever-popular race – ideal spring marathon preparation – close at midnight on Sunday 2 March 2025 (earlier if fully sold out). Early entry is advised to secure your place in the Priority First Fleet Half Marathon on Sunday 16 March 2025.
Fleet & Crookham AC's army of volunteers has organised this keynote event since 1982 and the basics remain – a grassroots race run by runners for runners – as the event has been improved and evolved over the past 40-plus years.
Tweaks for 2025 include minor route revisions to remove the out-and-back section in the first mile and extending the town loop to avoid any issues when leading runners meet back runners. Pacemakers will help runners achieve 1:30, 1:40, 1:45, 1:50, 2:00, 2:10 and 2:20 finish times recorded by ChampionChip Timing.
This year's race is dedicated to the memory of David Holdway 1968 – 2024, the Start Director for many years, with funds being raised to support the British Heart Foundation. Fleet Half Marathon is a Founder Member of the British Association of Road Races, helping to raise funds for the promotion of community participation in healthy recreation and the provision of facilities and coaching for all running/athletics disciplines in the Fleet area.
Following the cancellation of the Great South Run on 20 October 2024, the Fleet Half Marathon is now hosting the fifth England Athletics Age Group Masters half marathon qualification race for 2024/25.
