Flatcap 5 starts and finishes at The Leggers Inn in Dewsbury, following a 5 mile mixed terrain route along the Dewsbury to Ossett Greenway, canal towpaths and off road paths. The slightly undulating course provides an enjoyable evening challenge while showcasing a variety of traffic free trails and waterside scenery.
Organised by Dewsbury Road Runners, the event celebrates Yorkshire Day with a friendly community atmosphere. All proceeds are donated to the club's chosen charity, with prizes awarded across a range of categories, including awards for the best decorated flat cap. Every runner can enjoy complimentary pie and peas after finishing, with vegetarian and vegan options available.
