Chopwell's Festive Fun Back For 2022

After last year's change of venue, Chopwell Woods will be back to its festive best this December...

Storm Arwen caused Christmas carnage last year, with lots of events cancelled or postponed in December as a result. One of those events, the Chopwell Woods Christmas Trail Run is back on the race calendar for 2022 and organisers Wild Deer Events can't wait to bring runners a festive, fun-filled experience.

Scheduled to take place on 18 December in Northumberland's Chopwell Woods, this event offers an 8 miler for over 16’s which is one big loop of the fabulous woods, a 4 miler for anyone over 11 wanting a quicker blast and a Santa 1 miler for anyone aged 3-11 (adults can run with their child for free).

A spokesperson for Wild Deer Events said: "After the storm stopped our event at Chopwell Woods in 2021 we are back in 2022 for our Christmas event where friends & family get together for one last run before the celebrations begin."

Those taking part can look forward to a scenic route, as well as a wooden medal, mince pies, chocolate, nibbles and a drink for all finishers. There will also be event t-shirts to purchase on the day.

Last year's event may not have taken place at Chopwell, but it did go ahead at Slaley Hall instead. And despite the venue change, it was a great success with the hotel bar open for food and drinks afterwards!

Speaking of Slaley Hall, there is still time to enter the Slaley Hall & Forest Half Marathon & 10K on 20 November.  The Half Marathon consists of one lap and some miles around the enchanting Slaley Forest while the 10K is one big lap of the beautiful Slaley Hall grounds.
