January is the time when we start to look at holiday options and for runners a trip to an event abroad is always an exciting prospect. And that trip doesn't need to be a full-on marathon, there are lots of half marathon and 10k possibilities that would bring a running dimension to a short holiday. United Airlines NYC Half Marathon - 18 March
One of the world's top half marathons is the United Airlines NYC Half Marathon, which has an exciting new route for 2018. You'll see the sights as you run through Manhattan and you'll also have the opportunity to participate in New York City's world famous St Patrick's Day celebrations that take place on the same weekend as the race. Places are limited so runners are advised to act now.

If you are searching for a magical experience, then the Disneyland Paris Magic Run is the race for you. You can enjoy the family atmosphere and run alongside your favourite Disney characters on a very unique half marathon course.
Hero Half Marathon – 16 June
The Hero Half Marathon is part of the 2018 Tour of Tameside, which is the North-West's popular four day festival of running. The original week-long tour was founded by marathon legend Dr Ron Hill MBE in 1983. This race which starts close to Glossop heads along the scenic Longdendale Trail and provides great views of the Peak District National Park.
