Feeling the heat at the Uttoxeter Festival of Running

Off to the races again at Uttoxeter Festival of Running

Choose from three distances in an attractive setting.

The Uttoxeter Festival of Running 2022 is open for business and, with a Half Marathon, 10K and Kids Run, there is a race to suit everyone. All of the races are held at Uttoxeter Racecourse on Sunday 1 May. Whilst the course is hilly, rest assured there aren’t any fences to jump over!

It is organised by Uttoxeter Road Runners who are excited about hosting a live event again and welcoming runners back after a hiatus caused by the pandemic. The 2020 festival was cancelled and last year was a Virtual Half Marathon and 10K but real racing returns in 2022 to make the most of a beautiful course on open lanes with enthusiastic marshals to keep people going.

What will the weather be like? There was a heatwave at the 2018 event and more comfortable conditions in 2019 so let’s hope for something similar this year.

Both the Half and 10K start at 10.30am from Uttoxeter Racecourse and are single lap races around the Staffordshire countryside. The 2K Junior Run starts at 9.45am and stays within the Racecourse, making it a safe option for children and their parents. The festival is chip timed and finishers receive a memento.

Note: the Half Marathon is Race Number 6 in the NSRRA programme for 2022.

If you fancy a day at the races then sign up for the Half Marathon, 10K or Kids Run at the AV Timing website.
