Entries are open for one of the Central Belt's most popular 10K events. A regular sell-out on the Glasgow race calendar, the Jimmy Irvine Bella 10K will take place on 13 November in the Southside's Bellahouston Park.

Back for the first time since 2019 this is a great late autumn race with fantastic history and loyal fans. The club-run event pays tribute to one of the Road Runners' founding members - Jimmy Irvine and back in 2019 It was the man himself who sent the runners on their way on a bright crisp morning.

In the event's last outing a strong showing of top club runners meant healthy competition at the head of affairs but it was Cambuslang Harrier Alasdair Campbell (32:09) who prevailed ahead of Bellahouston Harrier Gregor Yates (32:57) and Kilbarchan AAC's Robbie Ferguson (33:03).

Leeds City's Lorna Young (36:09) was fastest woman with Fife AC's Sheena Logan (36:59) and another Bellahouston Harrier Kristina Greig (40:34) completing the podium places.

The course was redesigned in 2018 to make it as quick as possible and the race is run entirely on tarmac paths and the inner pavement along the park's boundary with Mosspark Boulevard. Speaking about this year's race a spokesperson from organiser, Bellahouston Roadrunners said: "The hills aren’t too bad, however you’ll definitely be feeling it when doing them twice and the twisty corners will keep you on your toes. Given the time of year the race takes place, be careful on the slippy leaves."

"You will receive a specially designed long-sleeve t-shirt then you can replenish all those lost carbs at our famous post-race spread afterwards."
