Mallory Park Road Challenge

PB heaven at new Mallory Park Challenge

For anyone looking to burn up the rubber but on two legs instead of four wheels, try the new Mallory Park Road Challenge on Sunday 22 March. The flat racing circuit is a good test for pacing strategies and a fertile hunting ground for a PB.

The Mallory Park Road Challenge consists of a 5K, 10K and Wheelchair race, all of which are held on a fast motor racing circuit at Mallory Park in Leicestershire. An iconic venue that has been home to motorsport for many years it is also a popular training location for triathlons/duathlons and cycling. The oval, hard surfaced circuit and extension with a hairpin bend equals a super quick course and very high chance of a personal best.

This venue is surrounded by lakes and hills, making it an attractive venue and the course is accurately measured and UKA licensed. In previous events, more than 85% of participants set a PB.

The 5K starts at 9am followed by the Wheelchair 5K at 10am. Next is the 10K Wave One at 11.30 for sub-50 minute runners followed by 10K Wave Two at 12.30pm for 50 minute to 2 hour runners. In the 10K, runners will complete six laps around the circuit and there will be pacers at regular intervals, keeping everyone focused on their target times.

This new event is chip-timed and there are free photos, a banana and water with further refreshments in the paddock along with sports massage. Friends and family can watch the action in comfort from the spacious viewing areas.
