An Early Bird runner catches...no, not the worm but entry to next year’s Worcester City Runs where they’ll, hopefully, pick up a PB at the same time. Choose from a Half Marathon, 10K or the Junior Run and celebrate with others at a real festival weekend in Worcester.

Worcester City Runs is back in 2023 and with new dates – 16 to 17 September. This coincides with other events taking place in Worcester which include a Paint Festival and Music Festival. The streets will echo to very different sounds over those two days as runners of all abilities, from club athletes to charity fundraisers, get into their groove as they complete their chosen distance. 

The event is organised by Events of the North in conjunction with Worcester City Council and Worcestershire Acute Hospitals Charity –  the official charity partner. Monies raised by participants’ help the charity in numerous ways including supporting vital research, improving equipment and facilities, staff welfare, etc. which benefits patients and staff. 

Paula’s Families on Track is lacing up its spikes again in a family-friendly and fun relay race on the Saturday. Entries open early in 2023 so keep an eye on the Worcester City Runs website.    

Sunday begins with the Young Athletes Run who run 1 Mile (U11’s) or 3K (U15’s). This is followed by the 10K and Half Marathon. There will be no shortage of support as crowds cheer everyone on from the start to the finish in a lively atmosphere.   

A nudge for anyone thinking about whether to enter from Worcester City Runs founder and Race Director Steve Cram who told runABC Midlands “I recommend that people don’t miss the opportunity to take advantage of the Early Bird price and secure their place on the start line.”

Endorsed by the Mayor of Worcester, Cllr Adrian Gregson who ran the 10K this year and enjoyed the experience saying: “The Worcester City Runs are great events and I encourage anyone wondering whether to enter to do so now.”
