Getting stuck into the Trout Run!

Keep Calm & Run For Trout!

Race goers will run up hill and down dale to be rewarded with a freshwater fish...

Pescatarians are eagerly awaiting next weekend's Wincle Trout Run scheduled for 10 June at the Peak District's Mellor Knowl Farm. Participants run (or wade) upstream and uphill to the finish where they will flop and collect their trout...

The Fresh trout are provided by Cheshire Fish, one of several sponsors of the race and the Wincle Fête which returned last year after a COVID-enforced absence. Everyone was glad to be back in the swim of things.

Held in a location which alternates each year – between Burnt House Farm, Tolls Farm and Mellor Knowl Farm, the latter is the setting for the 2023 run which sold out within six hours of entries going live! This is testament to the popularity of this testing fell race which has more than a few ascents and descents to tackle.

Youngsters are invited to join in the fun with a 3K Junior Race and can also enjoy a dip in the water. Friends and family can enjoy themselves at the fête whilst runners take on the the race. There will be tea, cakes and other food stalls to refuel with after the race and the option to sink a pint or two at the Ship Inn.
