Ramathon Countdown Is On

Derbyshire's Ramathon makes its return in just over a week's time, have you entered yet?

There's just over a week to go until one of the oldest and most popular sporting events in the East Midlands region fires the starting gun! Taking place on Sunday 19 June, this year's Ramathon promises to be one of the biggest ever - and the best part is there's still time to get involved!

Organised by Run For All for the first time in 2018, this race has proved to be an extremely popular addition to  Run For All's events calendar, attracting thousands of runners and raising loads of cash for good causes.

Runners who aren’t quite up for the full 13.1 mile event will be pleased to hear about RAM 5 Mile. This event made its debut last year and proved to be very popular among runners looking for a less intense challenge. Taking place on the same day as Ramathon, RAM 5 Mile is fast, friendly, and fun - it’s a brilliant way to get active without committing to a half marathon.

Both races begin in the heart of Derby and will take runners to Pride Park Stadium and back to Iron Gate, with Ramathon runners heading on to Elvaston Castle as well.

A previous entrant enthused: "Thought the second half of the route through Elvaston Castle Park and along the river was very lovely and a nice change from the road. Great local support and very well staffed. A great experience for my first half!"

As well as the scenery, many participants are looking forward to how flat the route is: both events should be great PB opportunities, and RAM 5 Mile would be a great first race for a new runner.
