New Course For Notts parkrun
Clumber Park parkrun launches scenic new course...
Clumber Park parkrun in Nottinghamshire has unveiled a newly updated course which is now live on its website. While many familiar features remain, including the meeting point, parking area and post-run coffee spot at Central Bark Café, the revised course introduces some welcome changes that reflect both practical considerations and a desire to enhance the runner experience.
A spokesperson told us: "The updated route moves the course away from the estate road, a change designed to avoid obstructing park visitors who need access to the central areas of Clumber Park. This is especially important during the busy summer months and has been made possible with the cooperation of the National Trust and our parkrun ambassador."
The new course is a lollipop shape and includes an out-and-back section followed by two anticlockwise loops through lakeside and woodland paths before heading back to the finish. It may also include a hill (or two)!
It was recently tested by Clumber Park Runners, who provided valuable feedback to the event's organisers. Runners noted that while the course is slightly more challenging due to a newly introduced hill, which appears twice, the setting is more picturesque and captures the natural beauty of the park.
For those that like to keep track of timings, existing event records will remain valid despite the route change, maintaining continuity for regular participants.
